Mills Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join a respected EPC/EPCM firm based in West Perth, supporting projects across the gold and base metals sectors.
About the Role
You’ll play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of project and construction activities, working closely with Project and Construction Managers.
The ideal candidate will bring strong site and design experience, preferably in gold (greenfield and brownfield), with the ability to operate autonomously while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and survey structural/mechanical works for compliance with project and client specifications
- Support planning, scheduling, budgeting, and progress reporting for construction activities
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery
- Maintain accurate documentation, registers, and ensure contract compliance
- Engage with clients and stakeholders during study phases through to commissioning
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years’ experience in construction project engineering within the resources sector
- Exposure to gold and base metals projects highly regarded
- Able to work independently and take ownership of work packages with minimal supervision
- Confident communicator who can work effectively across engineering disciplines and with clients under tight timelines
- Previous site-based or metallurgical experience will be an advantage
