Following a successful twenty five year career in Engineering that saw Darryl work on projects all of the world, Darryl found he was frustrated with existing talent providers and recruitment agencies, Darryl Mills founded Mills Resources in 2010 as a cloud-based business that promised to be more accessible and responsive than any other agency in Australia.

Over the last eleven years, Mills has grown because it has been able to circumvent the barriers that prevent businesses finding and retaining the best people for sustainable business performance and growth.

Based on a solid foundation of trust, openness and integrity, Darryl has built a business model and an extensive network of contacts that extend beyond the shores of Australia to solve recruitment and retention issues for clients across the globe.

Samantha Ruddy joined the Mills Recruitment team at the end of 2016.

Leading the Finance team, Samantha is responsible for the delivery of finance services such as payroll, accounting, treasury, reporting, strategy,  budgeting, and insurance management, in accordance with legislative requirements and organisational policies and strategies.

Samantha has over 20 years’ experience in providing professional services across a broad range of finance areas including compliance, business process, business advisory and consultancy. Prior to joining Mills Resources, Samantha held senior finance positions working with not-for-profit organisations, Business Consultancy and Public Practice firms in Perth.

Samantha is a qualified CPA, holding a degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & Taxation) and an Associate Diploma of Business in Accounting.

When she's finished balancing the books, Samantha enjoys reading a good book and a good glass of red wine, when not being a mum to two busy teenage boys, and she's always up for dancing, listening to music and watching a good live band!

Emina joined the Mills Recruitment team in April of 2018 to assist with our ever-growing marketing requirements as the Preferred Recruitment Agency for our clients, candidates and contractors.

Armed with more than thirteen years of marketing and strategic marketing experience working for a number of leading multinational and Australian organisations, Emina takes a multi-channel marketing focus as she plans and executes marketing strategies to ensure Mills' brand consistency and continued growth in the marketplace. Emina's responsibilities include managing our website, as well as our Social Media, Market Research, Content Marketing, Customer Relationship Events Management and Sponsorship.

Darren Browne, fresh from the UK, brings with him an impressive two-decade track record in Technical Recruitment, sales, and management. His enthusiasm for recruitment was sparked at the renowned organization, The Best Connection Employment Group, where his natural flair for talent acquisition and team leadership shone brightly. Leveraging these skills, Darren later spearheaded his own recruitment agency in the UK, nurturing it into a successful enterprise.

Specializing in Technical recruitment in the Manufacturing and Construction sectors, Darren's success is anchored in his profound ability to bridge the gap between clients and top-tier candidates, filling roles ranging from maintenance electricians to site engineers to senior managerial roles including production directors.

Guided by his values of integrity and respect, Darren's innovative approach to candidate engagement ultimately results in high-calibre placements. This, combined with his consultative approach to clients, acting as their strategic HR advisor focused on long term success, ensures that their unique recruitment requirements are always met.

When he’s not in the office you can catch Darren in full soccer mode - he’s an avid supporter of Coventry City FC in the UK!  When’s he’s not pitch side he is on the pitch coaching and developing young players and nurturing their passion for the beautiful game including his own daughters who excel in the sport.

Peter is a recruitment industry stalwart with more than thirty years’ experience in recruitment and HR consulting. His career began at the Federal Department of Employment and Industrial Relations before he moved on to working for such international companies as KPMG, Beilby and Talent2.

Peter is renowned for his success with recruiting Executives and specialist roles across a broad range of industry sectors including mining, engineering services, professional services and oil and gas. His clients include State and local government authorities, engineering consulting groups, ports corporations, technology companies, EPCMs, building and construction companies and not-for-profit organisations.

A highly experienced and dedicated recruitment consultant, Peter takes special pride inensuring that the unique skills and experience of individuals match the specific requirements of their future employers.

Peter's ability to maintain a strong rapport with team members and management comlements his commercial business acumen, resulting in high working standards and excellent abilities in clearly defining problems, collecting required information, analysing results and then presenting findings and recommendations.

Katherine (KC) joined Mills Recruitment as  Recruitment Support in 2023. Always eager to learn and embrace new challenges, Katherine has accumulated more than ten years of diverse administrative experience both
domestically and abroad across a number of industries.

Katherine’s key strengths lie in her meticulous attention to detail, adaptability, reliability, and ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, making her an invaluable member of the Mills Recruitment team.

Ashley Cunningham is our longest serving employee, having joined the Mills team in 2014.

As our Office Administrator, Ash is our quiet achiever working hard to ensure the timely delivery of finance services such as onboarding of new candidates, payroll, invoicing, document control and general office support.

Ash loves spending time with her hubby and dog, but you might be surprised to know that she is a big adrenalin junkie, and loves anything that goes fast or gets the heart pumping with excitement - think motorbikes, quadbikes, drift trikes and zip lining!

 

 

Adam has joined the Mills team as a renowned Mining Services specialist following the purchase of Orebody Personnel on 30 January 2023. With more than 20 years of valuable mining and recruitment industry experience and networks under his belt, Adam excels at sourcing qualified mobilisation-ready recruitment solutions for Mills' Mining clients.

Adam started his mining career in Meekatharra with Whim Creek/Dominion mining back in 1986 as a Process Technician and quickly made his way through the ranks to Shift Supervisor at the Haveluck and Paddy’s Flat Gold Operations.

In 1993 Adam was offered a position as Maintenance Planner at Dominion’s Bannockburn Plant, which he accepted and became a valuable team member which saw Bannockburn become a very successful operation. Unfortunately, the mine site was closed after it was flooded by cyclone Bobby in 1995.

Adam then accepted a short-term contract with Beminco which took him to Cockatoo Island, Iron Ore Project where he was assigned to set up the Maintenance Planning Program and Critical Spare Parts and Asset Register.

Adam took a hiatus from the industry to build a successful bus fleet business which he sold after 12 years to answer the call of mining once more.

Belmince lured Adam back into the mining industry as Production Manager for Dominion Mining’s Challenger Mine Site in South Australia and he was responsible for the running of the Crushing Plant, Processing Plant, Laboratory and Maintenance Department and Recruitment of all Personnel for each of these Departments.

Armed with his comprehensive knowledge and experience in mining, and guided by his principles of loyalty and trust, Adam successfully moved into recruitment. He joined Bryan Kennelly at Orebody in a Recruitment/Business Development role and they worked together to provide the right candidates for a broad range of processing, maintenance and mining roles.

When he's not working, you'll find Adam at the beach or on the water as he indulges his love of surfing, fishing and crabbing with his boys.

Sarah Hughes is a former Chief Nurse Information Officer and current Registered Nurse, turned Healthcare Recruitment Specialist, connecting healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and allied health staff with their ideal roles across Australia. With over two decades of leadership experience in healthcare and a strong background in digital health transformation, Sarah was awarded an Honorary Adjunct Associate Professorship tenure for Bond University, for her contributions and leadership in Nursing and Medical Academia.

As the Founding Director of NurseFusion, she has led teams through change and innovation, and is now applying that experience to recruit top talent in the healthcare sector with Mills Recruitment.

Sarah is known as the 'go-to' person within her extensive healthcare network due to her approachable and supportive nature. She takes a personalised approach to recruitment, taking care to understand the unique needs of both clients and candidates. Whether it’s providing career advice or fine-tuning résumés to maximise opportunities, she combines her clinical expertise and recruitment know-how to secure successful outcomes.

Throughout her career, Sarah has been an educator and preceptor in primary and tertiary care and led educational programs for Mater Health in Queensland.  She continues to be an advocate for equity of care and community care needs and a passionate supporter of career progression.

Outside of her professional life, Sarah is an avid Frenchie lover and loves studying the night sky. She has recently relocated from Northern QLD...and yes, she proudly supports the QLD Reds and North QLD Cowboys!

Margaret recently joined the Mills team as Payroll Officer.

Margaret has more than 27 years of office administration and accounts experience, including the last 17 years running her own small business in the construction industry.

Margaret loves spending her free time enjoying great food accompanied by a G&T or two, with friends and family.  She takes the opportunities to travel and experience new cultures whenever possible.

 

Bryan has recently joined the Mills team as a highly successful Mining Services Recruiter with more than 30 years' industry and recruitment experience following the acquisition of Orebody Personnel on 30 January 2023.

Bryan started his Mining career as a Driller’s Off-sider before getting the chance to move into Processing. He then worked at Mt Pleasant Gold Mine in Kalgoorlie for five years, with the last 12 months as a Process Shift Supervisor before moving on to work at Bronzewing Gold Mine for 18 months Fly In Fly Out as a Process Technician.

Armed with a comprehensively broad understanding of the processes and people in the mining industry, Bryan seized an opportunity to transition into recruitment servicing the very same clients he used to work for and eventually he saw his way to successfully running his own recruitment agency, Orebody Personnel, for ten years.

Guided by his principles of integrity and service, Bryan has forged excellent relationships with all clients, contractors & personnel and is one of the leading recruiters in his field. He is committed to helping his clients achieve their goals and only proposes candidates who are suitably skilled and qualified prior to mobilising on site. Clients trust him to provide personnel for a broad range of domestic and international mine site roles, including those required during commissioning & de-commissioning stages of the plant life.

Bryan has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, Cert IV Training and Assessing and Cert IV in Information Technology to support his extensive industry knowledge and experience.

In his downtime, Bryan is an avid cricket nuffy with a keen memory for a wide variety of stats. He loves watching his eldest son play and also takes an avid interest in his other son's desire to become a harness racing driver.

Jonnie is a highly motivated and results-oriented Lead Resourcer based in the Philippines who joined Mills Recruitment in 2023.

Jonnie leverages his strong IT and communication skills to source skilled workers for Mills Recruitment's clients. He skillfully utilises a comprehensive suite of online resources, including job boards, professional networking platforms, and social media to identify and attract high calibre talent from around the world best suited to client requirements.

Jonnie's commitment to success extends to building strong collaborative client relationships thanks to his excellent communication and active listening skills. His work focus, combined with his enthusiasm, highlights his dedication to Bringing Great People Together for Mills Recruitment.

Hema Ragoo joined the Mill Recruitment team in 2023, and brings eight years of expertise in content strategy and multi-channel digital marketing. As a member of our global team spanning Australia and Singapore, she is responsible for social media management and supports various marketing initiatives.

With a strong background in marketing and management, Hema is dedicated to driving engagement and fostering connections within our diverse network with the aim of bringing great people together.

Ross has more than eight years’ recruitment experience within Public Practice Accounting, Financial Planning and Financial Services in Perth. Having built a career in Credit Management in a number of companies across a broad range of industries, Ross has established a strong reputation for providing recruitment solutions for mid-tier and boutique accounting firms.

Responsible for end-to-end recruitment for his clients, Ross has worked alongside Partners and HR Managers in the recruitment and selection of Senior Tax Managers, Audit and Tax Seniors as well as Graduate and Junior Level Accountants.
